Our three jazz choirs across Godalming, Guildford and Farncombe welcome anyone aged 16+ who loves to sing.
No audition, no pressure to read music, no judgment - just turn up and sing. Whether you're a confident singer or haven't sung since school, you'll find your place here.
WARNING! Godalming Jazz Choir and Guildford Jazz Choir are absolutely infectious. Phoebe and Alex are an amazing team, full of ridiculous musical talent, energy, generosity, and kindness. I personally have never played an instrument or sung in a choir, but just always loved singing! I was so lucky to be introduced to Godalming Jazz Choir by a friend, who had been introduced by another friend, and have made more friends AND introduced friends! Needless to say - it's a friendly place. There's a great variety of songs with upbeat, jazzy arrangements written by Phoebe. Before you know it the songs are weaving into your daily life! The choir is fun, supportive, inclusive, inspirational, and challenging - in a good way!

Godalming Jazz Choir (GJC) is our flagship choir meeting right here at the ATOM studio in Godalming. We're a fun and friendly bunch who love jazz and contemporary music. All our arrangements are originally written by Phoebe, so you'll be singing music you won't hear anywhere else. Perfect for Sunday evening unwinding with gorgeous harmonies.
Guildford Jazz Choir (GuJC)
When: Wednesday evenings, 8:00pm -- 9:30pm
Where: The Salvation Army, Woodbridge Road, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4QQ (Get Directions)
Style: Mix of a cappella and accompanied by live piano (Atalia)
Our Guildford Jazz Choir (GuJC) crew enjoy a mix of singing styles - some songs with Atalia's beautiful piano accompaniment, others completely a cappella. We sing jazz standards and contemporary arrangements, all originally scored. It's energetic, social, and the perfect midweek pick-me-up.
Farncombe Jazz Choir (FJC)
When: Monday evenings, 7.30-9pm

Style: A cappella (no accompaniment)
Our newest and most ambitious choir, Farncombe Jazz Choir (FJC) - entirely a cappella with original arrangements. Not for the faint hearted. We learn all our original arrangements by ear. This is not your average choir. This choir has high energy and develops real skill in blend, balance and harmony. Currently at capacity with 40 members and a waiting list, but do get in touch if you're interested in joining when a space becomes available.
ATOM Youth Choir (AYC)
When: Monday evenings, 6:15pm - 7:15pm

For: Ages 7-16
Our ATOM Youth Choir (AYC) gives young singers the chance to learn harmony, build confidence, and perform contemporary music with other young people. We follow school terms and create a supportive environment where every voice matters.
I can highly recommend A Touch of Musicality! Having joined both Godalming Jazz Choir and Guildford Jazz Choir earlier this year, I now also have singing lessons with Phoebe. Phoebe, who leads both choirs is the most talented, energetic, inspiring and utterly brilliant vocal coach. She has a wonderful ability to get the best out of everyone whether they be experienced singers or nervous beginners.... and singing is good for the soul!!!

What to expect at Choir practice
We warm up together, work through harmonies section by section, then bring it all together. We teach everything by ear. There's always time for chat, catch-ups and laughter.
We perform regularly around the local area - summer fetes, community events, the annual ChoirBLAST festival, and our own concerts. Performing is optional, never compulsory, but most members find it's the highlight.
