Phoebe

Phoebe teaches Vocals, Piano, Songwriting & Music Theory & is the Director of A Touch Of Musicality. She also created & leads Godalming Jazz Choir & Guildford Jazz Choir & Godalming Contemporary Youth Choir. Phoebe writes all the arrangements for the choirs herself.

Phoebe started singing from a very young age & music has always been a massive part of her life. She got her first taste of real singing when she moved to Singapore as a young girl & her music teacher told her she was really good at it. She went on to perform all over the country in bands & as a solo artist. Musical theatre was always a big influence in her life & always performed in local amateur dramatic societies & in the school plays, but it soon became clear that Jazz music was her main passion. After having many exciting opportunities as a young person she went on to University and from then on met her husband and since, has never stopped making music. Phoebe graduated from Goldsmiths University with a first class honours degree. Teaching is a passion of Phoebe's, she puts her all into it and enjoys seeing the progression in her students. In her spare time you can find her running the streets of godalming & helping local charities.

Matt

Matt teaches Guitar, Ukulele, Bass Guitar & Music Theory. Matt began playing the guitar at the age of seven and hasn't put it down since. He knew music was for him from a young age. He has always been in bands of all different genres. Matt and Phoebe met in 2010 and since then have played and worked together, both performing and teaching, and in between had time to get married. Matt graduated from ACM in 2006 & has been teaching around the local areas since. He works for local primary schools, privately and can even be found on the cover of teaching books. He currently plays in a Jazz trio with Phoebe & Alex, the Gaydon Jazz Trio.

When he's not playing his guitar he is almost always out on his motorbike.

Alex

Alex teaches Piano, Composition, Music theory & accompanies the Godalming & Guildford Jazz Choirs.

Alex's love of music began at a very young age. He has always played the piano & worked his way through classical syllabus as well as contemporary styles. Alex studied Music at the University of Surrey and whilst he was there had a great time MDing for university shows. It was at University that Alex met Phoebe. A friend of his was booked to perform for one of Phoebe's student shows when he was unable to make it at the last minute. Alex stepped into his shoes and since Phoebe hasn't let him take them off. A Touch Of Musicality is like a little family, which Alex loves.

When Alex isn't teaching or playing his piano, he is probably looking into people's eyes as Alex is also an Optometrist in training. Either that or playing snooker with Matt.

Atalia

Atalia teaches piano, music theory & beginner vocals.

Her love of music began when she started playing the recorder at age three. Her poor mum & dad suffered her attempts of 'we three kings' pretty much all year round.  Fast forward a few years & Atalia went to study Music at the University of Surrey, whilst completing a year of that degree working in the education department of the Philharmonic Orchestra where she worked with primary school kids & inner-city schools. She got to work at venues such as Royal Festival Hall & Abbey Road Studios. She knew she wanted to teach from then on and for the last 9 years has worked as a music teacher in two local secondary schools.

Her recorder days are long since over and now her focus lies in teaching and performing Classical, Jazz & contemporary piano. She is also an A-Level music examiner and enjoys teaching harmony, composition, essay technique and theory at GCSE & A-Level standard.

She can't wait to continue teaching at A Touch Of Musicality and being a part of the team.

Piano, Theory, Vocals

Fiona

Fiona teaches singing, beginner piano & music theory.

Singing for as long as she can remember, Fiona trained in Musical Theatre and classical singing before graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Music Performance in 2017.

Fiona has dedicated the last year of her career to enhancing her skill set and developing her craft in order to give her students the best possible experience. She loves teaching beginners to advanced singers and also really enjoys the process of working through music theory and piano with a student. She has enjoyed internships in London and Los Angeles with vocology in Practice and VocalizeU, working alongside industry professionals such as renowned vocal coach Dave Stroud (Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato)

She can't wait to continue teaching at A Touch Of Musicality and being a part of the team.
